The Global 'LoftBox'
is an integrated INHome Distribution system. It is normally situated
in the Loft and combines TV, FM, DAB, CCTV & Satellite TV all onto one
cable. At the end of the cable a Triplexing
wallplate or a Multi service plate will need to be fitted to
separate the signals at the main living room. For all other rooms a std coax wall plate
or TV / FM wall plate can be used.
The cable from
the satellite dish / TV aerial etc is fed directly into the loftbox
and avoids the need for untidy external cabling.
Most new
houses have 2 cables fitted from the loft down to the main living
room, it is usually terminated into a face plate marked TV &
Sat. The face plate can be replaced with a Triplex
or Multi service plate which includes a return port, one of
these cables can be used for the incoming signals and the other for
the Sky return feed to the other rooms.
If you are using a Sky Plus
receiver this requires an additional lead from the loft to the
faceplate, the same loft box can be used as the cable will be
connected direct from the dish to face plate. NB: When
ordering the Multiservice face plate, you will need to order the
plate with the additional satellite input.
The 'LoftBox'
then takes a return
feed from the living room which would typically be from the UHF2
output from the Sky digibox or from a "Y" splitter.
FM & DAB
are diplexed onto the return feed & then distributed to
additional points within the house via Global TV/FM
diplex wallplates. Each outlet point is able to receive normal
terrestrial TV, FM, DAB, CCTV & the selected Satellite channel.
The 'LoftBox' fully supports the Infrared control signals from the
tvLINK Remote Eye back to the Sky digibox.
