Sky Digital Problems
These are some of the typical problems people have asked us about.

Question 1

When I access the on screen menu all I get is text saying no listings.

Apart from the dish not being aligned on to the satellite, this is usually caused by static electricity or a minor malfunction. The system will need to be reset, simply switch off the Digibox at the mains and switch on again, this will reboot the Digibox, leave for one minute and all should be well.
Question 2

I have been watching Sky in my bedroom but when I connected to a TV link to work the Sky remote nothing happens.

Make sure the other end of the coax cable is plugged into the RF out 2 Port at the back of the digibox. Ensure that the small supply voltage is activated which feeds the TV link, to do this go into Services, System Setup then press 0.1 select. The installers menu will appear go down to the RF outlets section and switch on the RF2 outlet. Check the connections at both ends of the coax lead to ensure that a good contact is being made.
Question 3

I cannot get the S4C Channels

Ring the telephone number on the screen access is usually free.
Question 4

When I tap in the channel numbers direct i.e. 501 (Sky News), the numbers disappear before I get to the end digit. The remote works ok for all the other menu features.

This is becoming common as digiboxes have been in use for over 12 months. The digits require a higher milliamp output from the remote than the onscreen menu. In other words the output from the remote is low, replace the batteries in the remote and all should be OK!. The Sky digital receiver is now able (2002) to detect a weak remote and will display on the screen that the batteries need replacing.
Question 5

I keep getting blocks of pictures disappear and freeze on the Sky Channels.

This is called pixelling and is caused by a weak satellite signal being recieved, check the dish alignment, cable and connections or call out an engineer.
